f) Canals were made inland, straight in shape which were very wide and long. The water was let off from the canals into the sea. Wood and fruit was transported down from the mountains via these canals. One can assume that fruit was difficult to store, so it can be deduced that fruit was used for oil, drink and food.

g) These black dots represent the lots in the plain. Each lot elected a leader fit for military service. There were 60 000 lots and each was 1.1 mile x 1.1 mile This only refers to the plain which is said to be towards the sea. The populations in the surrounding regions and mountains was equally vast if not greater. They too had leaders but theirs were assigned to them.
Each lot supplied:
- 1/6 of a war chariot
- 2 horses and riders
- one pair of chariot horses, a horseman, and a charioteer
- 2 heavily armed soldiers
- 2 slingers
- 3 stone shooters
- 3 javelin men
- 4 sailors (for fleet of 1200 ships)
